End of a Marathon
IIM Bangalore, the institute I had visited when I started my preparation for B School. Was just thrilled with the way things were there. Was not good enough to study there. Went there in first year of college for annual mngt event Vista. Had feel of what it takes to compete at such a level.
That day I had thought I should compete at such level.
In second year, the Vista event was announced. I was like wild bull fully charged but dont know where to run. My bhai saurabh was in the same state, we both teamed up and started working on the paper for the competition. Started off the wild goose chase. Had many ideas running at the same time. Had to control our horses and put things in place.
The count down timer began with 30 days left for submission. Came up with framework on what to do ( this was changed 4 times before final draft). Made a questionnaire using all our RM skills ahahhahahh. Went to companies , started bugging people. Did some crazy googling , found out mail ids of so many people concerned with our work and mailed them our questionnaire. Got help from many unexpected quarters both from India and abroad, industry people, academicians and analysts. Had couple of good personal interviews with ple at senior roles in companies.
Had nice learning from thework, more understanding with saurabh now, know what abilities i have to convince people and what I have to pick up still. How the industry works, this is where i am going to spend my life time in. What sort of roles i can play.
The D day came 20 september. After almost 4 reviews of the paper by our prof, batchmates gautham, mitesh we finally sentthe paper to IIM B. Fingers crossed now waiting for 25 october to see whether my dream of standing on the podium at IIMB has a chance.
Plzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz pray for me, :-) is there a way we can do it otherwise.
I know i have put in my best foot forward, but still some feeling inside says things could have been much better but dont know HOW.
Let me ponder over it for some more time.
